More than 3,300 short films have been submitted to the 9th edition of the Varesh International Film Festival in Iran.
The Varesh International Film Festival announced that some 3,341 works, including 1,672 Iranian films and 1,669 films made by foreign artists, were submitted to the gala.
The deadline for submissions was January 30, 2019.
According to the report, most of the submitted foreign films are from Russia, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Afghanistan and Tajikistan, respectively.
The Varesh International Film Festival aims at strengthening and supporting anthropological films and introducing the common cultural heritage of the Caspian Sea littoral states.
Identifying new talents are also among the main objectives of the festival.
The 9th edition of the festival will be held in the northern city of Babol in Mazandaran Province in spring 2019.
